Tenacious D, the GRAMMY-winning comedy duo comprised of actor/musicians Jack Black and Kyle Gass, first gave audiences an insight into their supposed occult origins in their 2006 film, The Pick Of Destiny.

Detailed therein was the tale of a cursed guitar pick which could allow its bearer to unleash soul-rending guitar riffs and melt faces in the name of rock. The film concluded with the pair facing off in an unholy battle of the bands against Satan himself, played by Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters. (Because why not?)
Although the movie has since become a cult classic and endlessly quotable piece of lore for Tenacious D's surprisingly committed fanbase, its relatively poor performance at the box office gave little reason to hope there would be a follow-up any time soon. However, this past weekend Black dropped a hint during the band's Sunday set at Shaky Knees Festival that the time had finally come for a fitting follow-up to The D's first cinematic outing.
"I don't know where you'll be able to see it, but we have decided that it's happening and it's coming out," said Black between songs. Representatives for the duo have since confirmed that the new sequel is due out in October.
Further details on Tenacious D's new film, including its official title, are still forthcoming.
