The event was organized by Charlotte-based publication CLTure for Come Hear North Carolina’s initiative of the NC Arts Council and Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.

The live streamed concert will take place across three nights, Friday, April 24 – Sunday, April 26, on Twitch at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time each night. More information on tuning in is available here.

The concert looks to unify North Carolina’s music community and rally support in aiding its most vulnerable during this unprecedented time. Regarding his participation and the emphasis on community support, Hamilton said that it’s important to "inspire, instill and give back to home" amidst the global coronavirus crisis. "Home is where you first learn the value of trust," he stated. "It’s important to be there for our own. Our artists deserve to be heard and appreciated. Carolina has some awesome talent."

Come Hear North Carolina was launched in 2019 after State Governor Roy Cooper declared the year as the North Carolina Year of Music. The initiative works to preserve and celebrate the rich musical history of NC while also supporting the state’s art’s communities. The campaign lives on into 2020 through various mobilizing efforts including music curriculum development for NC public schools, multimedia music stories, and musician stages and sponsorships at festivals and venues throughout the state.
