GRAMMY-nominated rapper Wiz Khalifa recently participated in an exclusive GRAMMY.com interview with Nick Huff Barili of HardKnock.TV. Taking place at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, Khalifa discussed the meaning behind the title of his latest album, Blacc Hollywood, and addressing certain stereotypes on the single "House In The Hills," which is featured on the album.

"I used [the word] 'Hollywood' as the goal of what everybody wants to get to. … I used the word 'Blacc,' and I spelled it the way that I did, just to empower people who start on their own — the outsiders or the underdogs, the people who get looked at as the weird kids for their ideas," said Khalifa. "I put it together and I kind of made it a cool thing just so those kids know that those are the ideas that take you where you want to go into the future."

Born Cameron Jibril Thomaz, Khalifa emerged as a high school senior with the release of his first mixtape, Prince Of The City: Welcome To Pistolvania, in 2006. He followed with his debut studio album, 2007's Show And Prove, and 2009's Deal Or No Deal. Khalifa was included on XXL Magazine's annual top 10 freshman list in 2010. He scored his first chart-topping Billboard Hot 100 hit in 2010 with "Black And Yellow," which became an anthem for the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. The single pushed his third album, 2011's Rolling Papers, to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and garnered two GRAMMY nominations, including Best Rap Song. Following Mac & Devin Go To High School — a 2011 collaboration with GRAMMY nominee Snoop Dogg, which served as the soundtrack for the film of the same name — Khalifa scored his second No. 2 album with 2012's O.N.I.F.C.  That same year he picked up two GRAMMY nominations for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Payphone" with Maroon 5 and Best Rap Song for "Young, Wild & Free," with Snoop Dogg and Bruno Mars, among others.

Released in August, Blacc Hollywood peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Khalifa's first chart-topping album. The album features 15 tracks, including the Top 10 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs hit "We Dem Boyz," as well as collaborations with rappers Curren$y ("House On The Hills") and Nicki Minaj ("True Colors"), among others.

Khalifa is currently in the midst of a U.S. tour, with dates scheduled through November.
