Black Dahlia Murder's Brian Eschbach and vocalist Trevor Strnad discussed life before their many albums and playing Vans Warped Tour. Growing up in Detroit, Strnad made friends his age who were also into Swedish metal bands like At The Gates and Dark Tranquility. He credits influences like these with the band's melodic metal style. "[We] spent a few years just kickin' it around Michigan being dumbasses and just trying to figure out how to get out there."
