In 2015 Austin City Limits was held the weekends of Oct. 2-4 and 9-11, followed by the Oct. 16 release of Børns' (Garrett Borns) debut album Dopamine. Speaking with Texas Chapter days before the drop at ACL, he already enjoyed great success that year and the album's single "Electric Love" was strong on YouTube since that May. His glam-rock falsetto pours out disarmingly dreamy pop. Dopamine was produced by Tommy English who went on to be nominated at the 60th GRAMMY Awards for K.Flay's Every Where Is Some Where in the category Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. "I'm really interested to see what songs people are naturally drawn to," Børns said. "It puts you into a world, so I'm curious to see what people pick out." The later-revealed answer would be that "Electric Love" kept its dominance followed by "10,000 Emerald Pools" and "American Money," and the first two had previously appeared on his 2014 EP Candy. Dopamine peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard 200.
