Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian of Capital Cities spoke with the Texas Chapter at Austin City Limits 2014. This was later the same year as the 56th GRAMMY Awards for 2013 — held on Jan. 26, 2014 in Los Angeles — but the topic of their GRAMMY nomination for Best Music Video didn't come up. "We incorporate some fun dance choreography into our set, which I think kind of puts people at ease," said Merchant. "They see us perform and they realize that we don't take ourselves too seriously, so they're able to loosen up." This was well illustrated by their Best Music Video-nominated "Safe And Sound." It didn't win, but it set a high mark for fun dance that few achieve.
