The Florida Chapter sat down with Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart, the Chainsmokers, at Winter Music Conference 2014. That was the year their single "Selfie" introduced them to a wider audience and long before their GRAMMY win at the 59th GRAMMY Awards. Contrasting their actual musical approach with their stock answer explaining what they do as a mix of indie, dance and pop, Pall said, "I think we just make stuff that we think is cool." Taggart explained the uncontrived and natural feeling they go for and clarified, "We still have a very strong vision of what we think is cool." That strong vision turned them into stars.
