Chicago urban music authority Andrew Barber interviewed the two master producers Just Blaze and Salaam Remi for more than an hour at a 2014 special event hosted by the Chicago Chapter and the Producers & Engineers Wing. Just Blaze received his first of 7 nominations at the 45th GRAMMY Awards (2002) for Nelly's Nellyville and Remi received his first of 8 at the 39th GRAMMY Awards (1996) for the Fugees' The Score and was nominated for Producer Of The Year, Non Classical at the 55th (2012). Conversation covered the current climate of the music business, the changing role of record labels, the equipment they use, and working with greats including Eminem, Jay-Z, Nas, and Amy Winehouse. "I work every day, I'm looking for my next accomplishment," said Remi, who would rather look ahead than look back. "I'm still a get up, go get 'em, at work, get your hands dirty kind of person."
