K.Flay is the DJ name of Kristine Flaherty, a singer/songwriter, DJ, rapper and producer/engineer who discussed being creative with the Recording Academy at the Pomona, Calif. stop of Warped Tour 2014. "I've found that the more creative that I am in general, the better the songs become," said K.Flay. "I think it's like when you're busy and you think you're going to get less done because you're busy, but because you're busy you get more done." She credits activities like designing merch or website art with keeping her creatively busy while she lived on the road over the past year.
