On March 31, 2019, Los Angeles and the larger hip-hop community lost rapper, entrepreneur and philanthropist Nipsey Hussle. Following his first nomination in 2019 for his powerhouse Victory Lap, he earned two posthumous GRAMMYs at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards—Best Rap Performance for "Racks In The Middle," featuring Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy, and Best Rap/Sung Performance for "Higher," DJ Khaled's track featuring Hussle and John Legend.
