Ricky Young, Joel King and Taylor Burns, the founding members of Americana band the Wild Feathers took some time at SXSW 2016 to discuss their latest album, Lonely Is A Lifetime, with the Texas Chapter. Having toured for their self-named first album over the past three years, the band no longer enjoys quiet time, like in coffee shops, to discuss and write songs. "This record was written at soundcheck," said King, explaining why their latest has a greater feeling of electric versus acoustic, a live and noisier sound than their first album. "We're the same band, but we don't want to make the same record," Young explained, but it seems they were too in-demand to go back to the quiet lifestyle they once knew. The band has progressed from looking up to Willie Nelson, from a distance, to playing at his events.
