The Dec. 3, 2008 CBS special revealed select nominations for the 51st GRAMMY Awards, the first time ever that nominations were announced live on primetime television. Co-hosted by LL Cool J and Taylor Swift, performers on the special broadcast included Swift herself as well as Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Foo Fighters, B.B. King, and John Mayer.
Carey released "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" on her 1994 Merry Christmas album, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Carey herself received a Best Gospel Performance nomination at the 51st GRAMMY Awards for "I Understand." Her career-total so far is five wins including Best New Artist at the 33rd GRAMMY Awards and R&B wins at the 48th GRAMMY Awards for "We Belong Together" from The Emancipation Of Mimi.
