Yasiin Bey, a.k.a GRAMMY-nominated rapper Mos Def, has announced that he will perform his 1999 debut album Black On Both Sides in full in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
The show will take place at Brooklyn Steel in New York on Nov. 3 and will feature hip-hop duo Camp Lo, as well as other special guests.
In 1999, Bey stepped away from Black Star, a hip-hop group he started with Talib Kweli, and created the socially conscious album. Bey went on to receive seven GRAMMY nominations for his work after his debut. More recently, Bey debuted new music in April at a listening session as part of Art Basel Hong Kong. He dubbed his work Negus, a sound installation based on music recorded in London in 2015. The album did not come out digitally or physically.
Tickets for his Black On Both Sides show go on sale on Sept. 13.
