Rihanna recently announced her Clara Lionel Foundation will partner with bike sharing company Ofo to provide girls in the southeast African country of Malawi with educational scholarships. Now the GRAMMY winner is taking her philanthropy efforts a step further.
For just a $1 donation, fans can enter to win two tickets to Rihanna's third annual Diamond Ball through The Dollar Campaign. The campaign runs through Sept. 5, and the lucky winner will be selected on Sept. 7.
Winners receive tickets, a hotel stay and airfare to the event at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. The Diamond Ball will be hosted by Dave Chappelle and will feature performances by Kendrick Lamar and Calvin Harris.
Most importantly, The Dollar Campaign will support the Clara Lionel Foundation's efforts to provide Malawian girls with access to critical funding for education. Each $1 donation provides a brick to build a school. A $10 donation provide 10 books, while $15 covers school supplies and $20 an entire month of education for one student.
"I want to challenge each of you to make a commitment to help one person, one organization, one situation that touches your heart," Rihanna said during her acceptance speech for Harvard University's Humanitarian of the Year Award in February. "My grandmother always used to say if you have a dollar there's plenty to share."
