Biography

  • Members: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood
  • Formed 1962 in London, England
  • The Rolling Stones started their own British Invasion with their breakthrough No. 1 single, "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," in the summer of 1965. That same year, Out Of Our Heads gave the group their first chart-topping album in the United States.
  • The Rolling Stones received their first career GRAMMY nomination for Album Of The Year for Some Girls for 1978. The band's albums Beggars Banquet (1968), Let It Bleed (1969), Sticky Fingers (1971), and Exile On Main St. (1972), along with the classic singles "Honky Tonk Women" and "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," have been inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame.
  • In 2013 the GRAMMY Museum hosted a screening of the then-new documentary, Charlie Is My Darling, which was filmed during the band's 1965 tour of Ireland.
  • The Rolling Stones have a long history of charitable activities and benefit concert appearances, including a performance at 12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief.
