Recommendations
Requirements for Voting

Membership Starts With a Recommendation

  1. Step 1

    Get Recommended

Two people working full-time in the music industry submit recommendations on your behalf. They don't need to be Academy members. Current members can recommend from their dashboard; non-members use the recommendation form. Each person can recommend up to two candidates per year.

    Recommendations due by February 15

  2. Step 2

    Complete Your Career Profile

After both recommendations are received, you'll get an email with a link and candidate code. Complete your career profile with your professional credits, discography, and supporting documentation.

Profiles must be completed by March 1

  3. Step 3

    Peer Review

A peer review panel of existing Academy members active in the music industry reviews all submissions each spring. The panel evaluates your entire career portfolio.

  5. Step 5

    Activate & Engage

Accept your invitation, set up your account, choose your chapter, and begin participating in the GRAMMY Awards process, chapter events, advocacy, and community.

Accept by July 31 for current GRAMMY season
