Milestone telecast receives five Emmy nominations in recognition of production excellence

The 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards have received five Emmy Award nominations in recognition of outstanding production excellence.
Nominations for the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced by the Television Academy at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre on July 17. The 50th GRAMMY Awards are nominated in the following categories: Outstanding Art Direction for Variety, Music, or Nonfiction Programming; Outstanding Lighting Direction (Electronic, Multi-Camera) for VMC Programming; Outstanding Music Direction; Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety or Music Series or Special; and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special.

The 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards were produced by John Cossette Productions in association with AEG Ehrlich Ventures for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich and John Cossette were executive producers, Walter C. Miller was producer/director, Tisha Fein was the coordinating producer, David Wild and Ken Ehrlich were the writers, and Tzvi Small was supervising producer. Musical directors for the telecast and pre-telecast were Rickey Minor and Larry Batiste, respectively.
The individuals nominated in each category are eligible for the awards. Nominees in the Outstanding Art Direction for Variety, Music, or Nonfiction Programming category are Steve Bass, production designer, Alana Billingsley, art director; and Brian Stonestreet, production designer.
Nominees for Outstanding Lighting Direction (Electronic, Multi-Camera) for VMC Programming are Robert Dickinson, lighting designer; Matt Firestone, lighting director; and Andy O'Reilly, lighting director.
The nominee for Outstanding Music Direction is Rickey Minor, music director.
Nominees for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety or Music Series or Special are John Harris, broadcast music mixer; Thomas Holmes, production mixer; Eric Johnston, broadcast audio playback mixer; Mike Parker, stage foldback mixer; Tom Pesa, foldback mixer; Ron Reaves, FOH music mixer; Eric Schilling, broadcast music mixer; and Mikael Stewart, FOH production mixer.
Nominees for Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special are Ted Ashton, camera; Mike Breece, camera; David Eastwood, camera; John B. Field, technical director; Freddy Frederick, camera; Hank Geving, camera; Dean Hall, camera; Larry Heider, camera; Dave Hilmer, camera; Ed Horton, camera; Marc Hunter, camera; Charlie Huntley, camera; Guy Jones, video control; Dave Levisohn, camera; Steve Martyniuk, camera; Rob Palmer, camera; Bill Philbin, camera; Hector Ramirez, camera; Brian Reason, camera; and Keith Winikoff, video control.
The GRAMMY Awards have now received 14 Emmy nominations for production excellence, and a total of 16 nominations overall. The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live from the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sept. 21.
