1. Be A Voice Of Change For Music
There are two types of music professionals today: those who complain about policy issues in the industry and those who do something about it. In order to make real change, music makers need to raise their voices and take the seat at the table they deserve. Otherwise, they'll continue to be on the menu. If you aren't advocating for your industry, who will?
2. Push Policy Forward
By registering for District Advocate day, you'll have the chance to meet with your members of Congress to discuss important legislation that they are presently considering—policies that directly affect you, the music creator. 3. Share Your Story & Talents
Good news, you don't have to be a policy expert to help make meaningful policy change. On District Advocate day, what's most important is being yourself, a local music maker. Want results? Look no further than the Music Modernization Act, which resulted directly from the years of direct lobbying from constituents like you during past District Advocate days! The MMA was signed into law last year, marking the largest update to music legislation in the past 40 years, and it would not have been possible without the dedicated music makers who took a stand, including more than 1,500 music creators who participated in last year's District Advocate day.
