People magazine, The Recording Academy and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority celebrated the 49th GRAMMY Awards season with an exclusive event in Las Vegas on Dec. 14 at JET Nightclub at The Mirage.
Jamie Foxx, the Oscar-winning actor and 2006 GRAMMY nominee, hosted the event and performed. Multi-platinum, GRAMMY-winning singer Fergie headlined the show and also performed two songs with fellow Black Eyed Peas group member will.i.am. The evening also featured performances by John Ondrasik of Five For Fighting and Josh Kelley, and DJ Samantha Ronson kept the party moving into the night.
The event marked the first time that People and The Recording Academy partnered for an event in Las Vegas. Musical artists joined executives from the music and entertainment industries for this special night.
Avon's beauty and fashion boutique brand, mark, was the event's platinum sponsor, providing a "mark hook-up beauty bar" that showcased hundreds products and a "hook-up/touch-up" station where guests had their makeup refreshed by top mark make-up artists.
Additional sponsors included Red Bull, Fiji water and Trident.
The 49th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Feb. 11 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and broadcast by the CBS Television Network (8 – 11:30 p.m. ET/PT). People is the official print media partner of The Recording Academy and the GRAMMY Awards.
