?uestlove (the Roots), Richie Sambora, and Neil Young will perform in honor of pop music icon Brian Wilson at the MusiCares 2005 Person of the Year gala, a private VIP event that will be held on Feb. 11. Jon Lovitz will host the event, which includes a tribute dinner, concert and silent auction.

A songwriter, producer, arranger and composer, Wilson is one of pop's most influential creators and one of music's most revered figures. His career as a Beach Boy and as a solo artist has resulted in a number of rock classics, including "Don't Worry Baby," "California Girls" and "Good Vibrations." He was chosen as the 2005 Person of the Year for his accomplishments as a musician and humanitarian, including his ongoing support of his late brother's Carl Wilson Foundation for cancer research as well as performances to benefit the Bridge School and Adopt-A-Minefield.

The MusiCares tribute dinner is one of the most prestigious events held during GRAMMY Week, a celebration that culminates with the 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards on "GRAMMY Sunday," Feb. 13.

The MusiCares Person of the Year gala includes an auction featuring collectibles such as music and sports memorabilia, artwork and luxury items. Proceeds from the annual Person of the Year tribute provide essential support for MusiCares' Financial Assistance Program, which ensures that music people have a place to turn in times of financial, medical and personal need.
