The Latin Recording Academy, the Recording Academy's sister organization progressing global Latin music and culture, today (June 18) announced that nominations for the 2020 Latin GRAMMYs will be unveiled Sept. 29.

The 21st Latin GRAMMY Awards, set to take place later in 2020, follows last year's star-studded 20th-anniversary blowout, which welcomed one-of-a-kind performances and historical moments from Alejandro Sanz, ROSALÍA, Luis Fonsi, Juanes, Ximena Sariñana, Anitta, Bad Bunny, Beto Cuevas, Residente, Farruko, Prince Royce and many others.

The news about the forthcoming nominations follows recently announced changes from the Latin Recording Academy, which include the additions of three new categories—Best Reggaeton Performance, Best Rap/Hip Hop Song and Best Pop/Rock Song—to be included as part of the 2020 Latin GRAMMY Awards.

Widely known as La Noche Más Importante de la Música Latina ("The Biggest Night in Latin Music"), the Latin GRAMMYs recognize excellence and create a greater public awareness of the cultural diversity of Latin recording artists and creators, both domestically and internationally.
