“I read in the Wall St. Journal that Rep. Blackburn said the performance right bill ‘is one that’s going to be done. Give me six months.’ AND she was just named Chair of the House Communications and Technology Subcommittee. That's a great start to the new Congress.”

Background: The Journal quoted Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) saying that corporate radio has enjoyed a “free ride on the backs” of performers. The story notes:  “Until we get a performance right on the books,” Mrs. Blackburn says, “our artists are barred from bringing the money they have already earned into the country.” Asked how she thinks the bill will fare in the new Congress, she answers: “This is one that’s going to be done. Give me six months.”
